The Dallas Cowboys held their final padded practice of the Oxnard portion of training camp on Wednesday and like all of them before it did not feature Micah Parsons from a participation standpoint. Parsons was seen on the sidelines monitoring things and being a part of what he could from afar as he deals with negotiations with the team.

His absence throughout all of Oxnard now officially means that the Cowboys will have had one of their better players miss the training in California for a second straight year as CeeDee Lamb held out in 2024. Jerry Jones spoke to the media following the practice and touched on the situation. He noted that conversations could pick up when the team is back at their world headquarters, but he also said they might not.

As is often the case Jerry did not really offer any new information with this quote. We have known all along that a deal could or could not happen. What we are waiting on is some sort of resolution, one way or another.

For what it’s worth, Jerry was asked point blank by ESPN’s Todd Archer, according to Joe Hoyt of the DMN, what is preventing the team from negotiating with Parsons. Jerry offered one of the more honest answers to this point in the saga and said nothing. For real.

So why not negotiate then? Why not take care of the situation so that the best player on your team can be a part of the training, practicing with the rest of his teammates? These seem like fair questions.
