The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C controller is now available to buy in two new colors. The colors have a translucent design and were made in partnership with Viture. However, they cost more than the other color options.
While Viture describes the color as matching that of the limited-edition Steam Deck OLED, the Ultimate 2C Bluetooth controller isn’t compatible with SteamOS, as it works with the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 only. Do check out the list of 8BitDo controllers compatible with the Steam Deck and SteamOS.
The Ultimate 2C Wireless, on the other hand, originally launched in Mint, Peach, Green, and Purple. Then, in December 2024, 8BitDo announced two special-edition colors:Â Blueberry and Brownie. It also released a Black Myth: Wukong special edition. With the addition of the new Clear Translucent version, there are now eight colors to choose from.
Unlike the Ultimate 2 Bluetooth, the Ultimate 2C Wireless comes with a 2.4GHz adapter and is compatible with the Viture Neckband (Bluetooth) as well as Windows (Wired and 2.4GHz) and Android (Bluetooth only) devices.
Each version of the Viture × 8BitDo Ultimate 2C controller is available to buy directly from Viture for $39. However, if you purchase a Viture glasses pack and add either one of the controllers to your cart, you get the controller for free. There are also listings on Amazon for the new controllers, but at the time of writing, they are unavailable to buy.
