British triathlon star Georgia Taylor-Brown has continued her encouraging start to the 2025 season by securing a silver medal at the Inter Counties Cross Country Championships in Nottingham.

The reigning supertri champion represented Greater Manchester in the event, finishing 33 seconds behind winner Jessica Gibbon, who a few weeks earlier was crowned the 2025 English National Cross County Champion in a race where Taylor-Brown finished 10th.

And her individual sport exploits are set to continue with the news that 30-year-old has entered herself in the 2025 East Cleveland Classic bike race on April 13.

Following the Nottingham race, Taylor-Brown posted on her Instagram account:

“Did a run race and then entered a bike race 🫨.🏃🏼‍♀️⬆️🥈 Intercounties XC.

“After National XC I wanted another chance to race before the cross country season ended so after a few emails I was so happy and grateful to get a start! And what a beautiful day it was to run around some fields.”

The aforementioned bike race will take place on England’s east coast as the Tokyo 2020 Mixed-Relay gold medallist will face the 25km circuit in Saltburn-on-the-Sea.

The most decorated female triathlete in Olympic history, Taylor-Brown stated in January she’d attended a 10-day cycling-specific training camp and that 2025 could involved some bike races in addition to being “in and out of triathlon”.

Mathias also in the mix again

Also racing in the Inter Counties Cross Country Championships was fellow triathlete Olivia Mathias, fresh from her impressive third place in the Nationals.

This time she had to settle for fourth and she said on Instagram: “I’m secretly a tinyyyy bit disappointed with yesterday but if you told me 6months ago I’d be Midland Champ, finish 3rd at nationals & 4th at inter-counties & still feel a lil disappointed I’d have laughed. Run has been the focus this winter & I’ll continue to keep pushing ✨

“That’s cross country done for me now, hopefully see you next year, I’ve LOVED it❤️‍🔥”
